Commit your plans

“Commit thy works unto the LORD , and thy thoughts shall be established.”

Proverbs 16:3 (KJV)

What does this mean?

This is a wisdom saying from Proverbs, the kind of short truth that steadies a whole life. It says that when you hand your work over to the Lord, your plans, your projects, your daily tasks, he gives them a firm footing. Proverbs speaks in general patterns rather than mechanical guarantees: the point is entrusting your work to God, not a formula that forces every plan to succeed.

What does this teach us?

Commitment comes before clarity. You do not have to know exactly how everything will turn out, you hand the work to God first, and he steadies the plans as you go.

How can we apply this?

Before you start work today, take one minute to hand it over: name the project, the meeting, the worry, and give it to the Lord. Then work hard at it, not anxiously, but as someone whose plans rest on a firm footing.
