The way
“Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.”
John 14:6 (KJV)
What does this mean?
Jesus is sharing his last meal with his disciples, and Thomas has just asked how they can possibly know the way to where Jesus is going. Jesus answers that he himself is the way to the Father, the truth itself, and the life itself, and that no one comes to the Father except through him. The verse is a direct claim about who Jesus is, not a general piece of advice.
What does this teach us?
Jesus does not point to a way, he says he is the way. The Christian faith rests on this: knowing God the Father comes through knowing Jesus, because he is the truth about God and the life God gives.
How can we apply this?
If you are searching for God, start with Jesus: read his words, watch his life, and talk to him honestly about what you find. And if you already follow him, let this verse steady you when other voices offer other roads — the way to the Father has a name, and it is Jesus.

Reflection
What are you looking for from God, and what would it mean to find it in Jesus himself?
Prayer
Lord Jesus, I want to know the Father, and you say the road to him runs through you. Show me the way, teach me the truth, and give me the life you promise. Amen.
