Perfect peace

“Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee.”

Isaiah 26:3 (KJV)

What does this mean?

God gives deep, complete peace to the person whose mind stays fixed on Him, because that person trusts Him. The peace is not the absence of trouble — it is the steadiness that comes from where the mind rests. Trust is the reason the peace holds.

What does this teach us?

Our thoughts can easily become consumed by fear and uncertainty, and what we dwell on shapes how we feel. Returning our attention to God helps us remember what we can depend on. Peace is not something we manufacture; it is something God keeps for those who trust Him.

How can we apply this?

When worry starts spiraling, notice where your mind is fixed and gently turn it back to God — a short prayer, a verse, a moment of stillness. Limit the voices that feed your fear today. Practice fixing your thoughts on Him in small moments so it is there in the hard ones.

Reflection

What is your mind fixed on most right now — and what would change if it were fixed on God?

Prayer

Lord, my thoughts wander toward fear so easily. Keep my mind stayed on You today, and let Your peace guard me in the middle of whatever comes. Amen.
